Community Providers

GALLCO PALS IS IN SESSION MONDAY - FRIDAY FROM 9AM TO 3PM.


To be eligible for services, an individual must be at least 16 years of age, a resident of Gallia County and have a developmental disability as defined by Ohio legislation.  An employee of the County Board of DD will assist you in determining eligibility by calling the County Board SSA department at (740)446-6902.

ADULT SERVICES

  • Day Services - Activities are provided to eligible individuals that emphasize on social skills, self-help skills, behavioral support, communication, motor skills, independent living skills, community integration and awareness, health education and safety.
  • Employment - Vocational training and work experience are provided to individuals in a sheltered environment.  Current contract work includes: lawn care, labeling and packaging, box assembly and janitorial work.
  • Referral to Opportunities for Ohioans with Disabilities (OOD) - Assistance in locating and support for Community Employment.
  • Transportation - Transportation is provided to and from the Adult Service Center by the way of three 16-passenger, air-conditioned shuttle buses that are wheelchair accessible.
  • Recreation - Activities that are offered to all enrollees who attend day services at Gallco include: arts and crafts, indoor and outdoor games, movies, shopping trips, library, festivals, computer games, picnics and exercising.


It is our goal to provide a quality service that promotes individual choice and to achieve a life of increasing capability.  Through a variety of coordinated service, enrollees are provided the opportunity to grow, learn and develop valuable life skills, which enhance their abilities to participate in the workplace and in their community.
